Hi!

To all my Biotech Friends in India,

           Being a mediocre student it had been a very hard time for me, searching an R & D job after completion of my M. Sc  Biotechnology from Bangalore University (2002-03). Initially it was really hard to know the Biotech Companies in India and what are they really dealing with. Then the Magazine called BIOSPECTRUM came in the market, which really helped a lot by providing valuable information on Biotech Market in India. There is no website which provides the list of Biotech Companies in India. I have tried here to add as much as possible Companies I came through, with the possible link to there home page. Few companies don't have the homepage so you will have time to search it.  If there is any Companies which are not listed in my list, please let me know name and website address so that I can add and Biotech  students of India never had hard time to search Biotech Companies. It should be all in one page............what do you say?

        Now, what my bad experience  says? It is really easy to get Marketing Job, but  R&D jobs, .........really tough. If you are really interested in R & D jobs, send your resume to all the companies, but possibly you will get no or few calls. As I applied to around 270 Companies and got call from one only. This is because, Employee Reference works a lot since there are few requirements. At least the market has improved slightly in this few years. Now a days you get job advertisement on Job sites like Naukri.com, JobsAhead.com, Monster.com, etc.

        My practical suggestions (which may change with the change of market scenario) to those who are struggling. The best option is probably give GRE or NET at this moment. If your luck favors, you get to do PhD in some Lab, but you have to search a lot for that. Or otherwise GRE. You need to score minimum of 1200 on GRE  and 280 on TOEFL(now the TOEFL IBt has 80 Total Score ) to get into good Universities of United States with Scholarship. Or, the other option is Marketing  Job, which I think is  probably the Last option. M. Sc can apply for Brand Manager/ Product Executive post. Some Companies want one year field experience. Brand Manager post got around 10 days Field work in a month.

        Hey, check out for Clinical Trial job also in companies like Quintiles. Lots of Jobs are coming now a days

I had been working as a Marketing Executive till December, 2006 and now presently I am doing MS in Plant Sciences at Missouri State University and the research I am doing at the Lab is on Transgenic Grape-vines; that is because I had never even given up even in the worst phase of my life. So friends what I want to tell you is that "NEVER GIVE UP YOUR DREAMS" and if you think that I can be of any help to you, don't hesitate to mail me.
